You're right I guess. Maybe I should more assertive about my songs.
Indeed some of the stuff that's charted here in the UK over the years
has been pretty awful. But I choose to be realistic in my
expectations. That way I don't get hurt! Besides, I aint young and my
particular style of rock has its roots way back. That doesn't make it
bad music of course, but you know what I mean.
My long term plan is to release an album...when I say release, I mean
that I'll maybe have a couple of hundred CD's pressed to give away at
gigs and to anyone who might be interested. Anything beyond that would
be a hell of a bonus, but you never know!! Anyway I have a long way to
go before that happens. The stuff on my website is mostly at what I'd
call demo level. The plan is to complete say 25 songs and then cherry
pick the best ones..revisit them, fixing anything as required, and
then have a go at mastering them. Getting consistent mixes could well
be the hardest job of all. I'd love to be able to pay a professional
to do it for me..but that simply isn't an option, so its down to me.
Its something to aim for and I'm genuinely exited about completing it.
Out of interest Max, how did you make it into the charts and when? Its
a genuine question..I like to know what others have achieved.
