Native Instruments has 2 free VSTi plug-ins, which also have stand-alone
versions besides the plug-in versions. As you seem to be a piano/keyboard
player/performer, this might come in handy for you, if you only want the
sounds "live", but donīt need a sequencer host software taking up
resources... ;-)
The first one is called "Kore Player" and the second one "Kontakt Player".
Both are available free and at least KorePlayer includes a sound set. In
addition to that, free sound sets can be downloaded separately! Of course,
you can also buy more sound sets, but there should be something usable in
the free ones.
NOTE: you need to register with NI to request the download links!

It should at least be a good place for a start. If you donīt like the sounds
in the free packages or canīt really use them for your purposes, you havenīt
lost money, but only some time...
Good luck and fun!
