I had some very kind help from quite a few of you experts in this
field and so I thought it would be only fair to tell you how I got on.

First I should explain that I find changing a fuse in a plug
difficult.

I think USB stands for Unidentified Slotty like B*st*rd thingy.

All the "port" - "holes" (?) on the back of my computer look the same
colour to me.

I find dialing a help line frightening.

So, armed with the advice you chaps gave me I learnt to distinguish
Black pointed things from Red ones. I figured out where they went to
as well !

I tried Audacity but found RIP Vinyl easier to use.

I tried Windows Media Player and Real Player but on your advice I
looked around and eventually bought Opera 6, which I found stunningly
easy to use. (I rarely read manuals.)

I connected my TV ear phone socket to my computer and taped a sound
sequence from Zulu and it worked, but most of all...

I am now going through my entire Long Player collection copying them
to my C drive and then burning them to CD to play in my car or in our
living room downstairs.

So if there are any other 56 year olds who think they can't do this,
well you can.

And it's all down to simple advice given freely from the people on
this News Group.

........................................THANKS

Donnie.
