that is why I try to find something that most people seem to like and
then when I plug them in, I play a known source through them before I
start working to sort of set my ears. If I know what is missing or
boosted, I just compensate for that. Its a lot cheaper then fixing
everything there is to fix and it works well enough for my taste.

Damn Ty, you must be getting some great gigs these days to afford
those suckers!

+1 on the JBL and the Tannoy.
I would have suggested them but I assumed they were too big.

There's always one in the crowd

I have to make it a point to hear the KH line because so many
people rave about them. I've never heard them.

I jokingly call them the "Reaper" of the monitor world because of
the passionate following.

As Scott already pointed out they are a restricted in the bass. The
company specs say the low cutoff is 93Hz, but my ears tell me different.
I use a pair of subs in my set up to add the bottom end.

I have these little Audix powered speakers in my bedroom. Fairly
surprised my mixes come out okay using them. A little to bassy in the
mixes because the bass doesn't develop at close range. But I can
compensate for that.

Those are actually 8" and change across... I had
read a constraint of 8".

If budget was not a large concern I would have mentioned the small
PMCs. Probably the most impressive low end of anything that small.

Dimensions of the JBL 2325p (which are quite a bit smaller than the
2328p) are as follows:

7.38" W x 11.75" H x 9.63" D
