Hi folks, long time lurker and midi user but short time Cubase user.

The problem, or solution, is most likely simple and is connected to
project setup. I imported a .wav to add tracks to added an instrument
track using Hyper-Canvas to record a keyboard track.
If I start recording, for example at 8 bars in, the first note
recorded jumps back to the beginning of the track instead of where I
start recording...argg. I can of course slide the completed track but
sometimes some of the first notes are truncated too, but not
always..argg again.

After stumbling through some setup snags with my computer and my
lizard brain, CuBase is running smooth and I can't believe I waited
all these years before I got serious with it.

Thanks all,

Leo Dean, St. Simons Island Georgia

One or both of the following may work:
1. Is Auto-Quantize on? There is a button in the Transport bar. If there
isn't, right-click on the transport bar and select "Record mode".
2. In Devices/Device Setup/Midi port setup, experiment with turning
"System timestamp" on or off.

Does this help?

Jos.

Just curious, was it on and did you turn it off, or the other way
around? I have it turned off at the moment.

Good to see that it works,

Jos.

It was un-checked Jos and I think the auto-quantize may have been on,
because that is one thing I had tried and so I just left it on.

thanks again--leo
