Hello Everyone,
I hope no one minds a slightly off-topic, cross-posted subject here.
It is tangentially related to using Sonar, so I hope that I may find an
answer from you fine folk here in these groups.
Background: I have an old MOTU Midi Timepiece AV with a parallel port
connector in back.
I used it reliably with my old laptop but was forced to retire it when I got
a new laptop and replace it with a newer USB version that works well.
The USB version is mounted in my gig rig rack and I would like to use the
older Parallel version with my Desktop DAW but have no native motherboard
support for a parallel port in the DAW.
This weekend, I tried installing a PCI-e parallel port card and the
Clockworks software is able to "see" the MTP but unable to communicate with
it.
I suspect that this is due to the PCI-e card using a non-standard interrupt
and / or DMA channels for the port, but there is no apparent method to
specifically allocate resources to it.
Question: Does anyone know of a Parallel Port card with either a jumper
block or driver features that would allow me to specify the resources to
make it work (hopefully) with my old MOTU?
Any response will be welcomed, thank you all for taking time to read this.
