I don't think you can go wrong with Fostex or Sennheiser

the problem is that I have already bought Sennheiser once. the headphones
were great...for acoustic and classical music , but not so good for ambient,
electronic and rock.

this is why now i am trying to find out which model exactly is good for the
kinds of music I usually listen to...

thank you anyway

Seconded.i have SR 325 and Sony MDR-F1's,
i like then both very much, the Grado is a lot more
dynamic and has better bass in it's presentation soi
i find it better suited to rock music while the Sony's has
better transparency and presents a wider soundstage
and depth so better suited to classical etc, don't forget
a decent headphone amp if you can stretch to it.
