I acquired this amp just three weeks ago and out of curiosity more than anything else. I wasn't expecting it to beat my valve monoblocks (four times the price of a new MC2) but was shocked to find how close it run them, even winning in some areas. However, the monos will be kept, so the MC2 is up for sale.

The MC2 range was designed by Terry Clarke of KlarkTeknik.

The MC2 650 has limitless reserves of power and an addictive neutrality that digs up previously unheard details in the music. It has a very expansive sound, pushing out stereo brilliantly into the room.

As with the other amps in the MC2 range, fans are utilised to cool the heatsinks. In all honesty, I haven't found them to be that intrusive in my smallish room. That said, they can easily be replaced with ultra low-noise ones, such as AcoustiFans, for near silent running. This amp is in great condition and clearly had a very easy working life.

£350 plus shipping. (They tend to go between £300-£500 on ebay). These amps are great value new, so you are getting an amazing amount of amp for just £350.

    Baudrillard,

    You have PM asking following

Do you have serial no to check age and service history?
What do you figure postage to Yorkshire would be?
What power cable is used? Powerconn or standard UK 13a plug?

    Thanks
    Lee

Damn, I just noticed what Lansr did there. I figure that was a waste of time then. I'd been keeping my fingers crossed too. Thanks for pointing that out Smithy.

    Anybody else got an MC2?

I have a MC2 T500 but not currently for sale. There is a Quested Ap500 on ebay at the moment which was £160 last time I looked and I believe ends tomorrow. If of any interest.

I would have run for the MC650 for that price mind you.
