Just picked up a little-used Ortofon MC15 Super off eBay - it's a Mk1 and doesn't have any instructions. Sounds quite sweet though and rather different to the Denon - it'll be handy as a spare and/or be worth a few bob at trade-in time.

Bit of a long shot though - does anyone know of the recommended tracking force for this cartridge?? The Mk2 uses a fine line tip and tracks at a squidge over 2g but I believe the older one has an elliptical and may well use a lower weight. I'm running at 1.9 to be on the safe side for the moment.

    Thanks for any info. :)

Thanks - reckon that makes sense. Looking at the latest Ortofon range it looks as though it's just the really recent stuff that needs a heavier setting.

It's quite susprising how good this cartridge sounds when fitted to a good arm/tt - especially considering its age.
