VST System link uising Digidesign Hardware.

Hi guys,
I am running Cubase SX3 on 2 machines. The main machine is using a
Digedesign 002 interface and the 2nd has a 001. I want to be able to use the
2nd machine via Systemlink as a slave for running memory intensive plugins
like TRacks. I can get this working only if I use the 001 on the 2nd machine
as the clock master. I want to be able to use the 002 on the master machine
as the clock master but the 001 doesn't seem to let me choose an
external/ADAT clock. Am I missing something or is this a limitation of the
001?
