Welcome to "Linux Fairy Tale Land" where the twisted Lin-O-Nuts tell each
other Linux success stories all day long.
Facts and Linux advocacy are mutually exclusive.
Most of comp.os.linux.advocacy are compulsive liars.

Yea, I've been reading some of the tripe that Kelsey guy writes and damm,
I'm gonna have to put on my wading boots because it's getting real deep in
here!
It's interesting to note that the Lin-O-Nuts rarely object to some of his,
ahem, stories.
I guess they figure that nobody will question him.
Anyone reading his garbage can tell that most of it is fabricated because
he keeps tripping himself up.

Read some of his posts about Linux running on older hardware and you will
laugh your butt off.
Even funnier are Kelsey's posts about his problems with Windows systems.
Has anyone ever seen a person with so many Windows problems?
In fact, the entire comp.os.linux.advocacy group seems to have so many
troubles with Windows. I wonder why that is?
Terri

Because they think they are super programmers and keep trying to hack
Windows and end up trashing it. It's been years since I've seen a BSOD,
maybe because XP doesn't have them?

Linux is supposedly free(although I wonder how CompUSA would feel about you
walking out the door with that $100+ boxed version of Linux under your arm
without paying), and that's all they see. Walking is free, too, but how many
people really prefer walking 25 miles to work vs. using a vehicle?

Linux is free as long as your time is free as well.
I know people who have spent weeks just trying to get Linux installed and
then when they finally get it mostly working they discover it stinks and
is not as good as Windows so they remove it.

Linux is just the ticket for a person who has a lot of time to waste.

I agree. I've installed a few variations and feel that even though it's
come a
long way, it still has a long way to go before just anybody can install a
copy
and get the same usability they'd get from either Mac OS or Windows.

After takin' a swig o' grog, Yanick Schmuley belched out this bit o' wisdom:

Learning audio is free in exactly the same way.

> Linux is just the ticket for a person who has a lot of time to waste.

And yet many people find that the learning pays.

Learning is funny that way.

Yes but compound that with the time it will take
to learn a new operating system as well.

Learning whatever OS you own pays in general.
