3 pin plugs with alternate cable entry

    Does such a thing exist - a 3 pin plug with the cable entry elsewhere than at the bottom? I'd guess between the live and earth pins would be possible.
    Just thought it might be neat.

    Some of the American plugs are like that so I suspect it could be done here in the UK. If you wanted to you could get an American plug like that and use a converter.

    Yes the plug from russ is kind of half way there - but would stick out further (horizontally) than a normal plug.

    Could it be a UK safety thing - to prevent anything 'falling' into the plug. More often than not your kit is above your sockets so loops round before heading up.
    Having set the sockets three feet up the wall already thought it would be tidy if the cables could go straight up from there.

    Hi Coda,
    You could of course turn the socket upside down, not a common idea but we often use to turn the sockets 45 deg/90deg to bring the cables out sideways.
