I listen to Classical music every now and then, but usually by listening to Classic FM, I have only 1 classical CD in my (largely contemporary) music collection.
I also own an iPod and take that in to work.
I've had a few pts now who've requested they listen to classical music, of which I have none on my iPod.
Can anyone recommend a good "all round" classical compilation that includes well known greats such as mozart, beethoven, dvorak etc...
...without too much vocal classical and none of this "the best chillout adverts music number 21" etc etc :D
A decent triple disc would be good.
    Thanx for any pointers.

This one isn't bad, and it's 6 CDs for not a lot of cash - proper first-class recordings and performances of all the bits too.

I know (and have) quite a few of the records from which those excerpts came, and I can vouch for Pete's comments. There are some outstanding performances there.

    Excellent

Thank you very very much :)
I'll go to HMV tommorow and see if they have it in stock.

(I can't believe how cheap it is...£7 for 6 cd's is outstanding. Even if I end up spending £11 by getting it instore it's a great price).

    Thanx again
