Ah now that brings back memories of wistfully looking in the window of Curries as a penniless teenager:)

A classic, right up there with the Ghettoblasters of the day.

Slap in a cassette, hit play and get into the groove with Bobby Thurston, Tom Brown and Ronnie Laws:D

    Now your'e showing your age:D

The classic "Check Out The Groove" was by Bobby Thurston I believe, Epic 12". Masterful cut of pure late seventies dance music:D

    Hi,

Nice piece of kit. Might keep an eye on it. :)

BTW the Bobby Thurston song was 'Check out the Groove' from 1980. Merlin is right, a corker from the dancefloor.

Ah yes, nice memories of how stereos use to look from my youth too!

Shame they don't make 'em like that anymore.

Was almost tempted to put a bid in myself! :D

They had the portable version of that system (as seen on Chart Busters 1983 I do believe!) in Music Man in Reading last year for 90 quid - Dolby on the tape deck and portable vinyl (stick in a record and plug in headphones = nice listening sesh on the train) - but £55 is a LOT of money for a 23 year old system - serviced or not.
