Just won an auction, quite surprised to have won it TBH (Rory talked me into it).... OK I spent a touch more than I would have liked, but he assured me it would be worth it.

The amp? An Exposure XX for just over £130!

Should sound pretty nice I reckon! :)

That's an excellent choice, and a very good price for a top notch integrated - nice one.

I think it will be a surprise to you. The amp should be a bit like those Naims of mine you heard. The speakers are very fast and exciting. I had a friend with the 25's (not sure about the number but the floorstanders.......) You've got the makings of a nice flat earth 80's style system there. Should do very well for your taste in music. Don't expect masses of bass, but what there is should be very tight and well organized.
    Hope you like it

Thanks, it should do my music just fine. Deep bass I can live without to be honest, as long as it can hold a tune, and I'm sure it wont have a problem there.

And now, all you need to do is help me find a nice li'l amp for around £100 to go with the alpha7 and B&W 601s :)

That last ones lovely but it'll do nothing but overheat and break down....Such a shame, it's their best product

    OI YOU! Outside NOW!!!

My own kit is largely MF ;)

It wasn't me who got the Alpha7 amp. I've not really had enough time to see what's available as far as amps at this price go, and I'd rather research my options before diving in.

Sorry about the thread hijack paul ;)

I remember watching the flux running around in one of those where it was so hot. Sounded decent enough at the time though.

They're lovely sounding amps, I've heard them really sing, and then I've heard them go pop as well. I suspect they didn't provide it with enough heat sinking. You could fry an egg on top of one I reckon if you were playing the right music.

Actually, the A1s run COLDER when playing loud - it's leaving the amp idling that causes excessive heat. One of the weird things about Class A...

MS25is are really fun speakers - they image for sh** and aren't the last word in refinement, but they rock. I liked mine so much that I gave them to my nephew when I got my Elas, as I wanted them to stay in the family. They manage to compliment an ORIGINAL Arcam Alpha (1985) and wake it up nicely ;)
