    Hello chaps,
wonder if anyone can give a few pointers
I have a arcam 8se cd which for the past few days has taken to causing loud static type pops from speakers, quite random every 10- 30 secs when switched on but no disc playing
checked and swapped power leads and interconnects and socket outlet
    any idea's ?

    Sounds bad .....

don't plug into your system !

if no disc is in that means you may have a serious component failure causing a short or the dac chip may have died on you ....I do have the service manual for this unit pm me.

    Hi guys,

My old Philips CD951 having this problem recently :JOEL: , the popping or jetting sound only appear while playing for a long time, and intermittently the cd can't started to turn or slow turning while loading the cd, however the optical is a new set. Might the turn table driver transistor given this kind problem.

    Thank You

I'm not certain it sounds a little more than that as the transistors normally work or not ....sounds more like an ailing dac ?

    Hi Guys,

    Cheer, 1/5 is coming, yap :D :D :D :D

I had found the problem, the 5V signal push up supply to the CPU --- > motor output ---> OPAmp input are not stable due to die join of the power section.

    Now is back to normal.
