Do any of you guys own an Arcam Dac 3?

I sold one on ebay that was in fine condition when it left the house, the guy who bought it says it is not lighting up. He has changed the power lead on the back as well as the fuse.

I am at a loss, and before going down the return route just wondered if it could be anything else, for instance does it have a captive fuse?

    Cheers

No idea with that dac, but most kit does have an internal fuse.

Are we talking no lights on at all, not even a power light? If so, then it looks like a power supply fault, so if it's not the simple fuse Penance suggested I reckon you'll probably have to get it back to look at fixing it. Well, assuming it's not the LED that's failed I guess!

I had an Arcam Delta Black Box 50 BTW, but I don't think this fault sounds like it's DAC specific to me.

    GARYI,

If the power lead the guy is using checks out ok, I mean fuse and continuity are Ok, then try another Power lead, if still In/op, then maybe as Penance suggested an internal fuse?, could also be a dry joint thats 'shown itself' during transit, else maybe the courier was a little heavy handed?
Possibly checking the wiring from the inlet mains socket/capative lead to the psu board my yield some joy. sorry didn't see this one gary. Wm

Gary, just tell him you've done him a favour selling an Arcam that doesn't make a sound.
