I have seen quite a few reviews for 5.1 headphones as of late.

Unfortunatly i tend to not trust reviewers for products like that.

So I am putting faith in you guys....who i have never met.

Has anyone hear heard a set of 5.1 phones?

    Are they any good?

Which ones were you looking at? Pioneer and Philips do sets which are apparently pretty decent, but they are around £200+ i think.

I have only seen reviews for the £50 mark, i had not heard about those ones.

They have many different speakers inside the one pair of headphones and have seperate inputs for all the channels.

Are you sure about that? I always thought they only had one driver per earpiece... basically i just thought 5.1 headphones worked with 2 drivers and used algorithms to attempt positional audio. At least thats how Dolby Headphone works...

Anyway, cheap ones are shit. Dont bother.

I was gonna say - I mean, I can understand 4.0 (1 "front", 1 "rear" in each can), but with 5.1, you'd have to place a cup on your forehead (think that scene in "Back to the future" when Marty meets Doc Brown, 1955, for the first time) and use your skull as a subwoofer/speaker driver - he he... A bit like those 1970s "Bone Fones"...
