Are CD7 and 506 like chalk and cheese?

Which cdp would be more suited to indie/ punk/ rock music, cyrus cd7 or meridian 506 do you think?

I'm after a life like reproduction of the recording with a good soundstage and clarity of instruments but no glassy, hard edged stuff.

I'm listening via Heep canamp and k701/ HD650 cans.

I like warmth and detail but punch as well:cool:

    Cheers

I'd go for the CD7 myself. I know a few people like using it in headphone rigs with the HD600/650 cans.

Heh. I don't think any of the punk recordings I own were made with any of those things in the first place! :D
