Too early to say much about what the replacement may be. But I'm not going cookie (nice expression that, we should try and make it the standard term for downgrading).

i recon something small, quirky and numerical from japan or some hooooge horns with a tiny S.E.T. amp for that pipe and slippers chic. either that or a full on ht setup with lifestyle B&O speakers, motorised projector screen and fake fold down cinema seats... yeah thats the one...
    cheers

Definitely not horns. The speakers are decided on and no SET either, not enough power. All being funded from selling other kit, no new expenditure, I've given up spending money on hifi for now, so nothing small and numerical from Japan either (although I wouldn't say no if I had the cash).

Main amp ATM is the Leak Stereo 20, which is lovely, but not the most practical given the hifi's on virtually all the time. Solid state alternatives for day to day use are being investigated, it's involving more arm-twisting than anticipated to get a certain item at home for a few weeks...
