Very neutral natural sounding standmounters. Rich natural organic sound, none of yer boom'n'tizz of the prevalent fashion for shouty artificial sounding things.

Reason for selling...once again I'm staying in the ATC family, going for the active version of the same speaker (once I find a pair!).

Low sensitivity, but easy impedence so not difficult to drive, however my experience is that they will not get out of bed for less than 100W of power. Unburstable, will play as loud as anyone can stand, but still full of grace and delicacy at low volume too (which is where my volume control is most of the time).

Very heavy - 24kg each, beautifully finished dark cherry cabinets.

Looking for £1100. These are about £2.5k new. In life they are not as 'orangey' as these pictures taken in artificial light.

Good luck selling them, they look in excellent condition.

If I had the choice between a new set of SCM12's or these I know what I'd be buying !

well. I never got to listen to these in situ ...

and I can see some hifi epidemiology at work, what with your going active and Dunc going Dax. The actives do sound good but what about the WAF - these passives look prettier, especialy set against the wall rug - now was that a significant upgrade?

    I might be interested

Hi - I'm a new user and have just seen your add for the SCM20's and stands, I got here from the link you posted on HiFi For Sale. I can collect , but first need more info. Are they as new and unmarked, what sort of use have they had and what is your best price for both?

    Regards
    PG

The price is £1100 for speakers and stands if collected. Speakers are almost as new, there are no visible marks and have original packaging. They are in perfect working condition too, have only had 6-7 hours use per week in last year at moderate volumes (because I don't like loud).

Please contact by PM if more details required.

Alanbeeb, is it possible to send them to Greece? Also, what's this plate on the bottom end of the baffle? I've been looking for some time now for a pair of ATC20s to upgrade from my ATC12s but never seen this plate thing before.

The plate says "Super Linear Magnet System" which denotes they are the SL version. If they don't have this then they are an earlier model (pre-2000 I think). As far as I know this plate only appeared on the SCM20, not any of their other speakers.

These are very heavy (24 kg each) so I think postage to Greece will be in region of £135 UK including insurance. Regards.

    Stands

Would you consider a price quote without the stands? Is the £135 price for the pair or for each speaker? If you wish, you may contact me privately for a price quote without the stands.

Alan, thanks for the offer; I'm considering it. I have to manage to do away my SCM12s at a decent price.
