Not attempting to be clever - but that's the first thing that anyone's going to ask. Don't really know what the going rate for a used one is as they seem to come up so rarely. I thought that this was a great little intergrated - why are you selling?

OK, fair enough point. But I just thought that those who were interested would have been watching prices, have an idea of what they would pay, and would would be direct and say yeah, 'I am interested, i'll give you X, assuming its mint - would you accept that?'

Because I've moved, and the sound has changed. I've tried changing room to no avail. New speakers, don't want to change cdp, so happy to try a diff. amp. Was quite happy with sound in last house.

I'll give you £800 providing it's mint and comes with original packaging.

its bare and small. So the sound is a bit lightweight.

What you need is some nice soft furnishing or a nice wall covering. Works in a small studio to kill refections.

Just trying to help - what's gonna sound good in a small room? Maybe you need to get some Genelec Studio monitors?

I like it a lot. Its compact, well built and very sure of itself. Before I bought it, I kept reading that it was an honest amp, it dug up lots of detail and little character of its own. When I bought it I found all of that to be true.

What struck me was its feeling of control and refined sound. My previous Cyrus 7 was too fast and thin. The AVI gave power, and a new degree/dimension to the sound, things sounded a little more 3D. In particular, I remember hearing a triangle being hit in a song, and I though, wow, it sounds so real, and I can hear the echo go on for ages.

I felt it did a better job of controlling my Dynaudio speakers, 86db, 4 ohm. Previously, the Cyrus sounded asthmatic, like it couldn't keep up and was at 100mph all the time. The AVI raised the bar in every level and I was dead chuffed with it. I'd easily recommend it. I like experiencing other equipment, just as much as having a little acoustic issues currently.

sounsd good.... i need an amplifier with grip and control to take the hand of my epos speakers and shake hard :)

i want somethint that had the balance of my old audiolabs.. but maybe a bit more exciting sounding.. and the AVI seems to fit that bill well

Well, if are still using the Roksan, I think its liveliness will come through. If you put calm in, you get calm out, and fast in, fast out, etc.

thats the idea generally.. i like my system to be as neutral as it can be.. while still allowing the heart and soul of the music through.. the roksan can do that... the audiolabs couldnt quite so well.

although technically perfect sound wise.. it was perhaps a little slower and not quite as driven as id like.

well thanks for that mate... AVI seems like a nice idea to me.

yeah thanks again... id been looking at all sorts of options... but this seems the best idea within my kind of budget.. without going totally nuts.

does the AVI have preouts and any kind of power amps to upgrade? or is it soley an integrated

To keep everyone informed - Flexo has "acknowledged" my offer of £800, but the amp is only for sale if he can get a replacement this week.

To that end I'll withdraw as i don't want to be hanging around waiting when I know where there is another for sale. :D
