    Ya-Boo, I do believe DaveB has, and the feedback wasn't positive, however JJ at S.O.M. is elling faster then he can get em' in apprently :eek: WM

    The important thing is whether you like it! If you do then who cares what anyone else thinks. DaveB is a naimie IIRC, so his tastes are probably different to yours anyway:)

    I ve broken the golden rule of try before you buy......

    tried to get a demo everywhere buy no joy

    I had the AVI pre and mono's so not a complete gamble

    had it at home for an afternoon,It just did'nt do for me{i was using my AVI pre and only able to use RCA]
    the guy went away well pissed,however, I did tell him at the end of the day for 1.9K it would have to Blow me away to part with that sort of dough

    Fair enough Kev, you do need the surrounding goodies to bring the best out of them (cables/source and isolation/mains), and they are best when driven balanced,but no matter you tried it, now you have some else. You do prefer the lighter side of the musical spectrum, maybe a valve pre might help?

    Tone, regarding your previous advice it has been taken on board

    re cables mains ect

    I intend spending the money now saved on amp on these items

    power leads, cdp isolation ect

    re interconects

    I can't believe the sonic differance between Nordost red dawn
    that i had and VDH first ultimate that i have now
    female vocals are nolonger hard/harsh/gritty
    I,d love to try that pair your selling
    you are aware I,m more your "Des o'connor" than "Meatloaf"
    with regard to music,

    vocal 'Emotion' is what floats my boat

    that might look like a parodox looking at the above artists mind

    I said to you at the time,I wanted to buy a Lim Valve amp but his attitude [no matter how bloody good his amp is] put me off
    and where I am ,their are few proper hifi dealers and none are
    prepaired to home demo hi-end stuff

    JJ doeshome demo's no probs, and he has a rather good bat VK3i for a modest £800 used he's in Tunbridge worth a look in or Chris fave place the emporium. cheers Tone

    If JJ is the dealer thats sells AVI, I spoke to him twice regarding a demo........he never got back to me on either occasion

    how d'ya find the avi monos...my brother lore is toying with the idea of getting them, mind you, he's got rid of his avi pro 9 s finding the bass dissapointing, so he may no longer be interested...what d ya think anyway?

    All smiles ,well happy with amp, a big improvement on previous

    Avi pre-mono's combi and cyrus mono's.....

    upgrade-itus has been cured.....er for now.....
