had it at home for an afternoon,It just did'nt do for me{i was using my AVI pre and only able to use RCA]
the guy went away well pissed,however, I did tell him at the end of the day for 1.9K it would have to Blow me away to part with that sort of dough

Fair enough Kev, you do need the surrounding goodies to bring the best out of them (cables/source and isolation/mains), and they are best when driven balanced,but no matter you tried it, now you have some else. You do prefer the lighter side of the musical spectrum, maybe a valve pre might help?

I can't believe the sonic differance between Nordost red dawn
that i had and VDH first ultimate that i have now
female vocals are nolonger hard/harsh/gritty

and where I am ,their are few proper hifi dealers and none are
prepaired to home demo hi-end stuff

JJ doeshome demo's no probs, and he has a rather good bat VK3i for a modest £800 used he's in Tunbridge worth a look in or Chris fave place the emporium. cheers Tone

how d'ya find the avi monos...my brother lore is toying with the idea of getting them, mind you, he's got rid of his avi pro 9 s finding the bass dissapointing, so he may no longer be interested...what d ya think anyway?
