Or in fact was it ever alive ?

Just a thought, as I cogitate tweaks that have worked and those that have not. Some of these tweaks have proved to work in my system and some not.

    What is the collective opinion?

I was rather hoping to get a view on the effectiveness of the theories?

try a felt tip pen on your fuse ends that definetly affects the sound quality
then there is the one coin under one spike ?
one thing worth trying is 2 pence pieces covered in felt then try them under each
spike or cone, give it a go dont cost nothing' well 2 pence a go

The problem is, the results of applying the theories are not objectively measurable, so their 'effectiveness' can only be tested in terms of people saying 'My system sounded better after I applied this bit of Belt-ism'. It all comes down to whether you can trust another person's hearing (which of course is no different from any other non-measurable improvement in a hifi system).

For the record I've only once tried one (free) bit of Belt-ism, and could detect no difference in sound quality comparing 'before' and 'after'.

Here's the view of "Stereovile", a magazine that I ignore (as I do all the others) because of its belief in magic, but this article shows that all hope is not yet (quite) lost:

    http://www.stereophile.com/asweseeit/110/

The author tiptoes carefully when speaking of his fellow crackpots, er, reviewers, but in essence says that they heard what they wanted to hear, which, of course, is the story of all cables/stands/goops/etc. Been there, done that.

    From Zanash's link:

The edges of C.D., Video and vinyl discs are a prominence which have assumed an extremely strong Violet energy pattern. Inducing onto the edge of these discs a 'friendly' morphic resonance pattern is highly beneficial.

Am I wrong, or is 1 April long past us?

Dont ask me why ......get one of these Staedtler Lumocolor Overhead Projector Pen packs and try it with the purple one. Its not a night and day thing but the more fuses you do ...... Its up there with some of the other more main stream tweaks.
