People who have the time to finish IQ tests deserve only the pittance they scratch.

    Too hard was it:D

If you've got the time to read hifi forums im sure youve got time to finish the test!

I'm quite happy with my results, but I should be considerably richer than I am:eek:

i know i could earn significantly more than i do however i consider the freedom and flexibility i have to work my own hours from home for a still pretty decent wage to be worth more than a few extra k a year. yes if someone offered me 80k a year to do what i am currently doing then i'd take it but if they wanted me to work in an office they'd be out of luck.

Got a coefficient of 9 scoring 18 out of 25 (IQ of 120+ if you believe their system). I'm in the top pay bracket for the survey but they still say "Your IQ is significantly more powerful than the average for your salary bracket. Demand a pay rise while you still have your faculties." Hmmm......

As Julian suggests salary is (a major part for some but not for others) only one part of the complex equation for finding the correct work life balance, although my maths is not too good I do know that the solution to the work life equation changes over time in line with one's needs and priorities.

When I was a yuppie I spake as a yuppie and worshiped cash above all other but no longer do so.

Exactly, quality of life is so much more important to me than playing the stupid little career/wages ladder climbing game. But the IQ test is crap as well, virtually everyone I used to worked with in IT would feel themselves underpaid going by that, in fact most people I know probably.....mind you, that's west country salaries, not London salaries....

I am not sure more intelligence equates to more earning power/potential. This is proven time and time again day in, day out.

I don't think IQ is the total factor in if you are good at a job, certainly within my industry, staying power and thinking on your feet help a lot too. It is pretty well established that high IQ does not make you good with people, situations, or indeed anything.

On a related note I did not do very well, but I did get fedup with trying to make may brain work hehe.

I like my job any how so its no loss.

Actually these days the ability to bull**** and willingness to trample on others is far far more important than IQ in acheiving financial success.

ahh but when you trample on someone intelligent it's likely that your brakes will fail or that lift you are in on your own will plummet you to an untimely maiming with no obvious culprits. i'd agree though - the willingness to be an utter cnut in the office is becomming more and more important - one of the myriad reasons i'll endeavour never set foot in one of them again..

I have never worked in one, and am starting to feel good about that. although my industry has its down sides as well.

IQ tests measure little more than ability to do iq tests. They give an indication in very broad terms of intelligence level but thats about it.

I tend to agree with you bbv but the Guardian study does appear to show quite a strong correlation between salary and IQ. I was very surprised by that.

IQ tests are flawed only because it's impossible to define precisely what 'intelligence' is so you don't know what to test. If you define intelligence as the ability to think logically and solve problems then IQ tests are a pretty accurate measure of that.
