    I own a 4BSST, in conjunction with a BP25 and PMC FB1s.

Lots of power and control and highly detailed and transparent.

Bass is a little on the dry side, but it suits my room, source and speakers well. Don't expect a full/warm bass as any charm has to come from the disc/lp itself. But it does have serious bass weight and goes very very deep. They also time quite well.

I wouldn't call the mids thin, but they're not shall we say, "valve-like".

The highs are superb, being ultra-clean but not in-yer face.

If you prize accuracy, dynamics, control, detail and transparency (or you play music v.v. loud), then the 4BSST is it. However, in the UK, they are quite pricey, so you may get better VFM elsewhere.

This Soundstage Review sums it up pretty well.

Thanks a lot for that Yogus - the Neats have similar traits so it could be synergistic or awful.
