Just curious about whether anyone has any experience comparing the bryston st and sst power amps with the pmc variants used in the active setups. PMC modify the amps extensively. Has anyone compared the four variants and do they know what the differences are?

Just in case - but I hope it isnt necessary - this thread is for the discussion of this topic and this topic alone. Not the merits of bryston and pmc versus their competitors or a discussion of their alleged performance shortfalls and certainly not any other products. That goes double for atc. ;).

From pmc and bryston. They do the crossovers too. And the preamps in private - not sure if they ever released those.

I thought they just modified the speakers, using different trebles or something. Sounds like a question for Bryston. Ian Downs from PMC will be round my house in half an hour, so I can ask him if you like.

Yes a different tweeter. That would be great! A comparison of the four variants using active three way pmc. Is he coming for a home install?

They ask that you direct an email to PMC. You may, or may not get a technical answer, depending on whether they are happy to divulge the info. Sounds a little guarded to me, but you can give it a shot.
