Cables, Anyone know about them?

Just bought a Rega P9 with DV XX-2 going into a DV P-75 phonostage. Now my problem is that this is connected to my Naim preamp with some Liberty cable which seems to be a little on the bright side. The cable was free so I'm not complaining (much) but if it doesn't settle down with in a week what should I be looking for as a replacement? Chord is the easy answer but there must be others.

Oh, I know.

Get a big shiney one. It needs to be around 150 quid. Anything above this is also good and will lead to 'better transparency' and 'more musicality'

Ideally the lead needs to be brightly coloured, with what would appear to be good quality connections.

How about Merlin? I quite like their interconnects to the CD.
