I have an absolutely mint condition cambridge audio DACMAGIC 1 digital to analogue converter,

This example is mint with box, manual, original receipts and BNC adapters to allow use of normal digital cables.

It even has nice chunky XLR outputs for connection to a suitable pre amp.

Im throwing in postage for FREE as well to any UK address.

Fixed price of £60 for this as new unit

Damn you, I am also selling mine. I'll wait a week or so though until you sell yours. It might be worth sticking it on ebay people pay silly amounts for DACs on there.

    Good luck :)

i wouldnt count on getting it sold that easy.

MIne has had almost no interest in spite of offering what i feel is a good all inclusive price.

Its a shame cos i kinda need the money to get a cheapish phono stage :-(

yep.... long since gone. I price stuff to sell quickly. The DAC was gone fairly sharpish.

TBH id save your money and get a more modern DAC. The old dacmagic was fun in its time, but ultimately rather limited. It was quite brash, forward and bright sounding and has no form of upsampling or jitter correction. Not such a great solution for digital streaming.

I actually find the analogue output on my airport express sounds better than the old dacmagic. That's how far technology has come on in the 10 years since it was around.

Why not delete the thread ffs! Baffles me this. Even dealers do it on their web sites with the 'used gear' They have it listed with a SOLD label beside the listing....kinda pointless don't you think?

Is the Cambidge DAC still for sale?

Only joking. Don't delete this thread, I had a lot of fun reading it. Just happened to find it googling the DAC as one on ebay. If everyone deleted these old threads we'd lose a lot of info & opinion on old hifi bits.
