I think I'm gonna get a Miniman DAC but obviously I wont be able to use the XLR terminals without an adaptor (Eventually I will probably remove them and replace with RCAs). Where can I get adaptor from?

Why do you want to do this, XLR cardas adapters aint cheap Miller, It's not the XLR you replace, it the Jack sockets, £2 each for the rca's sockets from Maplin. Wm

Yes I know but I'd like to hear it before I start modding it. Are there no cheap adaptors?

Miller, your not modding it, just desoldering 4 pins, putting 2 bits of wire and 2 rca's.
The cheapest pair of XLR/RCA's I've seen is £65 (that don't degrade the sound quality that much)
Plus XLR is +6db remember (studio grade)
You could Pm Lilolee, he may still have his 1/4" Jack to Phono adapter lead he may lend you, but remember NO adapter= improved sound quality, less 'stuff' to go through

OK. I'll have to get my sister to do the desoldering, I've never done that before. What thickness wire do i need? Would teflon coated silver be good? I have some that I got to make some Chris VH sliver interconnects ages ago.

You need 1/4 inch jack to phono adaptors. Maplin sell nice gold plated ones, KW36P, £1.19 each.
