Black Rhodium S300 is very good speaker wire. Bass was a tiny tiny bit too bloated for me, but it had a gorgeous midrange and treble. imo BR's interconnects are quite a bit more superior than their speaker wires but they have just launched a new DCT range so this may change...

I found chord odessey to be excellent for years. I've used Rumour, Odessey and Odessey 4 (doubled up NOT bi-wired). Never heard the black Rodium stuff. Only beaten by my Electrofluidics Monolith at a higher price.

A very safe bet at the price and holds its value well.

i used to use odyssey 2. it has a nice midrange but i found the trebble to be a bit forward and the bass to be a bit reticent. i switched to naim nac-a5 but this was almost the opposite with really strong bass but wooly treble. now i'm using townshend isolda dct which seems to combine the best qualities of both cable but is funting expensive.
    cheers

hmmm, thats my problem,I am using Isolda DCT now,but I need to sell because on wifes orders it is an ugly cable and wont be allowed in the new lounge

need to try and blag some from ebay and have a listen, but neither of these come up often

might go with the BR because I use the Illusion IC as well, dunno, will think on

in fcat, what other cables for around £20/25 p/mtr would anyone suggest?

how many metres do u need? theres some offers on at www.signals.uk.com

i would certainly try Nordost- its a love or hate thing with them. You could certainly never accuse them of being a subtle sounding cable. Go to a dealer and ask for a trial. QED cables have never impressed me- bit too bland and inoffensive imo. Can't remember the RRP of TCI King Cobra, but thats a good cable too.

The S300 is HUGE cable- is it really more wife friendly than Isolda DCT? If you do go S300, then check out hifipassion or audiocrazyguy on ebay. Email them (i found the former EXCELLENT to deal with) and ask him what his best price is

The Townshend cnnot be layed under a carpet,or even farted on or anywhere near for that matter. She insists on a cable to run under the edge of the carpet

Townshend is a Goertz variant. AFAIK you can put it under the carpet if you make sure its laid perfectly flat.

    Saab,

Take a chance with DNM speaker cables... no plugs though, only bare wire.

    Hi Saab,
I was using Oddessy 4 and swopped to TCI Anaconda which seemed more balanced (at least in my system).
It's a flat Bi wire cable terminated with Z plugs.

I mean they are good without any plugs, cheapy or otherwise...

Do try to make a profitable sale because it's a very, very good product...

    indeed it is

I read their website, and they state the plugs are made as they are to sound better than what they call, fancy plugs.

I will try and make a profit:)

No cable, hmm, must try that.

Saab, try some 2.5 twin and earth. I went from that to Isolda, although Isolda is better i would say (to my ears) they are of the same strain.

I stuck cheapy maplin plugs on, but bare will work. Certainly worth a go, and should be easy to hide.
