    Folks,

Another thing that did not find takers was the Subwoofer and I have tons of "interresting" DIY Speaker building Stuff mainly related to high efficiency things that need to go.

    Item 1

I have now broken the subwoofer from the original "cleaning out my closet" thread up into parts.

If anyone is interested in the Plate Amp from Thomessen for any other project, this one is available for £ 75. It is a few cuts above the usual stuff sold as "plate amp", new price when current was around 300 Euro, have a look here for details:

    http://www.thommessen.com/produkte/proteussw20/proteus_sw_20.htm

This includes continously varible phase, a continously adjustable (frequency and gain) low frequency boost circuit to help make a subwoofer play low in small sealed enclosures and seperate fully electronic crossovers for satellites, if desired.

Again, this can be packed and shipped. As this was used the plate is marked etc....

    Item 2

The two bass drivers are similar to the Eminence Delta 12LF but custom designed, ideally each is used in around 60 Liter sealed with some LF boost (around 6db @ 30Hz - such as provided by the Thomessen Module) to give in room extension down to around 25Hz.

These drivers are meant to work as woofer/subwoofer with high efficiency Speakers having a limited LF extension, for example smaller lowther horns etc. and when used as directed can keep up with such a main system both in terms of subjective "speed" and SPL.

It will be £ 45 for the pair, collection only I'm afraid. Details of the current Eminence Driver here:

    http://eminence.com/proaudio_speake...link=DELTA-12LFA&speaker_size=12&SUB_CAT_ID=2

If anyone wants the whole "semi kit" I'll call it £ 100, pickup only.

    Item 3

Also available are a pair of Beyma CP-21/F Slot Radiators, which are basically excellent alternatives to the JBL 2405 with very similar performance (I used to use these interchangable in my PA Days). Details here:

    http://www.usspeaker.com/beyma CP21F-1.htm

These can be used with a simple single capacitor and resistor as "supertweeter" for single cone speakers of high efficiency and will match up to 106db efficiency, I can provide some guidance to integrate them into a given system.

Current best new price per pair is around £ 50 per piece, call it £ 50 the pair? These can be shipped if desired, again used and marked but work fine.

    Item 4

I also have at hand four pairs of Radio Shack 40-1197 (Blue Box - that is earlier model) marked FE-103 and made by Foster (the Mother company of the Fostex brand). They are now discontinued.

These are quite close in performance (if not looks) to the basic Fostex FE-103. They are around 90db/W/m efficient fullrange drivers with a nice tone, bass is limited (after all, these are 4" drivers).

Some comments about 40-1197 vs. Fostex are here:

    http://members.aol.com/ikschiffer/fostex/rs1197.html

They can be used in the l'Petite and l'Petite en colone Speaker Projects from the l'Audiophile Magazine and also in the "BD Pipes" designed by Bert Doppenberg and many other enclosure options exist:

    http://www.planet10-hifi.com/boxes-fostex.html

    http://members.aol.com/ikschiffer/fostex/petit_uk.html

These drivers and projects (especially the BD TQWT and l'Petite as well as the Zigmahornet) make an inexpensive and simple "entry" into the whole "single driver" thing.

Price par pair £ 15 for the 3 perfect pairs, one speaker has a slightly creased cone, that pair would be fine for the rear position of the BD TQWT, but optically there is some damage so only £ 10 for that pair.

    Item 5

I also have a pair of Eminence PSD-2002 1" exit compression drivers (somewhat modified - backchamber), these could be used with a suitable horn and cabinet in conjunction with the 12" Woofers from above for a DIY PA Cabinet. Info here:

    http://www.usspeaker.com/PSD2002-1.htm

    I'll take £ 30 for the pair.

    Item 6

I also have two pairs of unused "Titan" Plateamps for Subwoofers from www.diyhifisupply.com:

    http://diyhifisupply.com/diyhs_speaker.htm

These are nearly up to the quality of the Thomessen Module from above. I'll take £ 75 each, shipping is possible, these have original packaging.

BTW, these plateamps go very well with the next item....

    Item 7

I also have a pair of "racetrack" 8" X 12" Subwoofer drivers from Tang Band. These have been used a bit and had at some time weights epoxied to their cones, so they look a little rough. Details here:

    http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=264-838

I'll take £ 60 for the pair due to condition.

If taken with the Titan Plate Amplifiers I'll call it £ 200 for the lot and would be willing to find a way to ship these (heavy).

    Ciao T

    Hi,

No Photos at hand, but I'll take one when I get home, okay?

Might work, no real idea though.

    Hi,

Here goes, click on the thumbnails for larger images....

    Back of Driver:

Here is the front of the driver with creased cones, it is hard to show well, the cone has also gotten some slight damage, sonically it does not seem to make a big difference....

And here the collection of boxes and drivers....
