Has anyone used their computer sound card as pre-amp? I am doing this now
because the pre-amp component of my int. amp is a little noisy (can barely
hear hisses when silent) but when using my sound card as pre-amp the noise
is considerably less. However the problem is that controlling the volume is
a little hard since my computer takes over that task and the wrong program
could blow speakers. I wonder has anyone else attempted something like this
and what do you have to say about it?

    my 2 bits:

If your computer sound card is better than your pre-amp, it's time for a
    new pre-amp.
