Anyone have any cheap sources for dedshete
[panel deadening goo] as my previous source has stopped?

I needed a box of pads or equivalent, for 2 x 100 litre
cabinets. Im hoping maybe Steve 7-V Margolis might have a clue..

I'm currently experimenting with clear type hot melt glue as
a [sort of] alternative. [5kg for £20 from axminster]

    cheers for any ideas,

    Graham C

Cheers mate, I just think Wimslow are too pricey. I appreciate its not a high turnover business, DIY speakers. Wimslow are twice the price that Falcon used to charge. I could go to the car-boys as well, but their stuff costs even more of a fortune

ie for 2 x 100 litre cabs deshete at Wimslow prices thats about £45 by the time you add 2+ layers which I need cos the cabs are 18mm ply..

Have falcon stopped supplying these? - the website says the type 2 ones are stuck together at the bottom of a one ton pile but the others seem to be there.

Yeah, I had a delivery from Falcon this week, and they wouldnt/couldnt supply either type

Wilmslow is 1/2 the size per pad [300 x 200]@1.30
I bought their 10mm foam covered pads at 1.50 each, but I'll be interested to see if 1 layer is thick enough..

This will tell you more than you could possibly want to read. It's as dry as any reference can get:

    pdf download of BBC research

Table 4 on p18 has results of 21 sticky things to put on your speaker cab walls. The BBC have always been partial to thinnish walls coated in lossy substances, rather than very thick panels.

Dedshete [10 on table 4] is self-adhesive fabric in pitch [I think], Like a self adhesive cookie, but not as tasty. Used by lots of respectable speaker companies at one time. Dried shit would probably also work quite well I imagine

    cheers,
