Dipping my toes into tubes (not literally)

    I've had an AVI integrated amp for some years now and feel like a change so I'm after some kind of integrated valve amp or maybe just a power amp as I have access to a reasonable pre.
    I have £4-500 to spend. Offers?

    Try - WAD EL84, Leak Stereo 20, Glasshouse EL84.

    Would personally reccomend the glasshouse because it's got twice the power of the others - but all are good.

    I've joined pink fish but it won't let me post yet. A friend strongly recommended a Stereo 20 and £350 is within my budget. If someone could get in touch with the guy and give him my email address [email protected] I'd be very grateful. I'm keen get it asap and could possibly travel up this weekend.

    Jon - if you go for the Leak make sure you use a passive pre-amp with it. The seller is selling one I believe, so you should be ok.

    Main thing to check for is signs of damage on the transformers (leaking etc)..

    Too right about the trannies - some think the only thing the leaks are good for is the trannies so need to make sure they are ok (no leaking wax etc) also need to check the green resitor is in place, and free to fall off if things get too hot.
