Hi all i am in the proces of trying to make a 100 watt 8 ohm dummy load i have noticed that RS sell 100 watt wire wound resistors for £5 but being a novice to this I am not shure how 8ohms reads...?
is it R8 or 8R...? i do not understand the R thing i feel shure it would work better if they just stated how many ohms they are...

Thanks again for all your help

    Dek ...:p

It should be 0R8 for 0.8 Ohms and 8R for 8 Ohms.

Is it safe to use a pair of resistors like this instead of the speakers?

For breaking in the cables and components, for example?
