    Need advise.

I currently own the ARCAM A85 integrated amplifier and the ARCAM CD 92 with Monitor Audio Speakers 700. I am looking to upgrade my speakers.

The speakers I am considering are the Dynaudio Audience 52 and the new B&W 705.

Can anyone provide me with any feedback.

Has anyone heard of the Dynaudion Audience 52 SE.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

although i'm not b&W lover - i think that work not bad at with a85.

it seems to me that a85 is a bit on "closed-in treble" side - "open" (make it "metallic" and hard) treble of b&W may complement it well.

in short - try it

The SE version inhabits different units, crossover and wiring compared to the standard 52. In fact it's a Contour speaker in an Audience closure.

Could demo them at home with my MF 3.2 power amp a few months ago.

Results where stunning, with a wide soundstage fast, detailed bass and kind of a laidback (perhaps better described as not obtrusive) though dynamical sound. They also appeared easy to place.

If funds allow, then you should give them a try. Perhaps you could add a P85 at a later stage to get better results, or, and better bear this in mind from a cost perspective, to get the result first right as they need serious power to do them justice.

    Good luck.

Erik i would say the speakers are just telling you what your Amp and source are upto.
Dynaudio speakers are very revealing speakers.
If you go the Dynaudio route i would try and find a pair of 1.3 MkII's they are better than the SE's.
Not sure if the Arcam will have enough grunt to drive these speakers and it may also be a little laid back for them.

I agree Curt. They analyse equipment, and might paralyse the hearing when not up to requirements.

Never heard the 1.3 MKII, but compared the 52 SE with the contour 1.1 and preferred the SE in all areas.

I suppose the SE will be easier to drive and place than the MKII.

    Good for you Erik.
The good news is they get better and better as you upgrade components.
I love my Dyns but i dont like to recommend them to much as they are a bugger to drive and really need some investing in ie high class components.
Many people seem to change their Dyns for other brands without really knowing what they can achieve.
    Have fun listening mate
