I reckon The Delivery Man is his best in nigh on 20 years (since Blood and Chocolate and King Of America era). Its one of those where his writing just seems totally natural and the songs follow you around for days afterwards. I've struggled with recent albums (particularly North which was a big bag of self indulgent crapness - as well as being very boring) - but this does the trick for me. Its basically a mix of out and out Attractions-style loud numbers and some nice country type stuff......

    Give it a whirl!

I'm probably going to go and see him in Bristol. I saw him once before, in 1999, when he toured with Steve Nieve as a duo. That was a superb show, only a few new tracks, 3 of which made it onto When I Was Cruel, and lots of hits and album tracks. Think he played about 35 songs across 2 3/4 hours... well worth the £20 or whatever it was.
