Don't ask me why, but i dug this old classic out earlier, and have come to the conclusion that this must be one of the greatest tracks of all time. If you can get around its inherent cheese factor and the unfortunate visions of a sweaty, partially clad Sly Stallone flicking in and out of your consciousness, its quite simply superb. I'm thinking of keeping it permanently in the aiwa mini, and blasting it out on timer every morning to wake me up, possibly investing me with the will to live at dawn.

I'm off for an oily rag now in a semi-sprint. I'm sure i'll get over it though soon.

Don't be ashamed. I know you all love it too ;)

Cheese is the word! Wot a nana

Now, 'Hold The Line' by Toto, that was a classic! :p

If you want something to wake up to, there's always 'The Web' from Marillion's 'Script For A Jesters Tear'. Heh heh! It'll either wake you or give you heart failure :D

Cheesiest rock song ever then, I reckon it must be the Final Countdown, not sure you'd want it as your wake-up call though!

Eye Of The Tiger... Hold The Line... The Final Countdown...

All damn fine slices of the maturest farmhouse Cheddar! :MILD:

I'd imagine Eye Of The Tiger would definitely get you out of bed like a whippet, joggin' on the spot and fists punching the air. Just as long as your other half has an appreciation for the same tempo of music at that time of the morning, you should be OK.

Whilst we're on the subject of Survivor, let's not forget their other big hit "A Burning Heart" - also from another Rocky movie wasn't it, IIRC? Not that I've ever seen any of the Rocky films, believe it or not. :)

What about Heart, how can I get you alone. I found the album lurking the other day when I was doing some tidying, couldn't resist putting it on. My god this was a whole cheese counter at Tesco's. There was soft cream cheese, some harder cheese, but the whole thing had a whiff of over-ripe Camembert about, a slightly farmyard tang:chunder:

The missus picked up the Top Gun soundtrack today in the sale at HMV.

I gave it a listen on the sly, and was disturbed to feel my pulse quicken at the sound of Kenny Loggins Danger Zone.

Oh man, i think i've lost it all together. First i buy a cheapo cd player and now i'm listening to cheesy 80s gym music......

Oi - enough of that :D The Top Gun soundtrack ROCKS! :shame:

I still play it in the car from time to time when I'm in one of those moods.

Adolescent dreams of being a fighter pilot and bedding Kelly McGillis to the sound of Berlin's "Take my breath away"...I'm never chucking that CD out :D

I LOVE all those tracks - yep, even "Final Countdown" - probably because I associate that track with killing a certain crappy stereo system in the blind school by flooding the bathroom above - "Final Countdown" was the last song that stereo was playing before the water blew it up - he he he!!!!

"Danger Zone" is one of my all-time favourite tracks - it's pure class - I got the soundtrack on vinyl for a quid and it gets a fairly regular outing...

If you want the ultimate CHEESE film track - what about "Glory of love" by Peter Cetera!?!?!?

I've never seen (or ever want to see) a Rocky film, so thankfully "Eye of the tiger" isn't ruined for me by that vision - what a pure class power track...

If you want the ULTIMATE track to make you get out of bed in a hurry - get Panterra's "Far beyond driven" album - the very first track starts off REALLY loud and fast and will scare you out of bed (or scare you into the grave!)...
