With apologies to TonyL but I thought it might be of interest to some.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4556113.stm

I saw the video and in the first 15 mins (out of about 47) I thought he was absolutely great.

Please note I'm not taking sides here, as I don't trust GG, but in this case, well watch the video and see what you think. I was amused:D.

I saw the excerts on the news last night and loved every last minute of it.

I relished the thought of American TV airing it. Absolutely fantastic.

    My favourite quote..

" I met Saddam Hussein exactly the same number of times as Donald Rumsfeldt. However when Donald Rumsfeldt met him it was to sell him guns "

    :D

I hope they do Claire Short next. Another sock between the eyes would be most entertaining!!

Great stuff! Reading the press reoprts, it's becoming clearer by the minute that they have no real evidence against Galloway.

He's very entertaining, and on occasion he makes some valid points, however I despise the man for his arrogance and for his comments calling upon the Iraqis to kill our troops....theres sympathising with the Iraqis who have had their country invaded oweing to a somewhat dodgy legal justification, which I can understand, but urging them to kill British soldiers is going way past what I personally consider acceptable behaviour for any British citizen, let alone an MP.

Galloway may have scored some points in a 'yah, boo, sucks' kind of way over a bemused Senate Commission but he's fooled no one who has actually been following the case.

He has falsely claimed that the Charity Commission has looked at "every penny in and every penny out" (of his Mariam Appeal) and "found no impropriety".

He has reneged on his promise to Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight two years ago that he would make the financial statements of the Mariam Appeal available.

In addition, the question of why Galloway moved the Mariam Appeal documents out of the country remains unanswered.

Galloway is a nasty piece of shit who used race as a main tool of his election campaign in the same way as it is used by the BNP. His inability to keep his mouth closed when he plays to the cameras is about to land him in serious trouble.

    He's going down.

From what I've heard from various folks who've worked with him, Steve could be nearer the mark...
Though I must say he's still entertaining.

Attempts of character assasination by US govt is nothing new.
Sadly it is part of their political culture.

Was good to see GG going into the loins den and rip apart the allegations for which US is unable to offer hard evidence.

It is a shame to see this kind of injustice going on in a country that claims to stand for 'freedom'

gotta to confess i aint followed this too closely, but i personally found it most odd that these allegations surface again very shortly after the US of A's best buddy - aka the boy Blair has just had his nose rubbed in the dirt by Mr G in the elections.......

In what way Steve? At what point does an anti-war stance become racist?

In the first place, I seriously question Galloway's 'anti-war' credentials.

The BBC (amongst others) has played its part in spreading the myth that Galloway was expelled from the Labour party for his 'views on Iraq'. In fact, he was expelled for 4 specific acts including inciting foreign troops to fight British troops and inciting British troops to disobey orders.

Some may call this 'anti-war'. I don't. Galloway is 'pro-war' - just on the other side.

    BBC spins again

I heard that when he worked for War on Want it become known as "War on I want" among other employees due to alleged misappropriation of funds...
And he was apparantly a Des Lynam-like figure when it came to young ladies..

fair enough Steve, but imo thats not much evidence to call him pro-war.Imo,he has always been against the war,its been a constant campaign of his.I think you need more than the BBCs editorial bias to come to that conclusion, but I respect you pov.

This guy has been really on Galloway's case for a while now. You'll find plenty of info and plenty of links.

I just find amerian news coverage cloyingly sycophantic, and grossly pro-current american doctrine.

Thats why I enjoyed George's monologue so much.

I dont know anything about the man himself, so will reserve all judgement!

Well at least Galloway has been following Harry's Place's motto to the tee.

I had a read, but failed to see any hard evidence that Galloway is corrupt - no more than an alternative Farenheight 911 IMO.

GG is a likeable rogue; the current American administration are deeply unsavoury rogues.
