Hi All,

Sad to report that we received news early yesterday that our esteemed founder had been involved in a traffic accident whilst out cycling and was hospitalised.

So far information is sketchy, and I've delayed posting until I hear some good news. The good news is his life isn't apparently in danger and I'll try to keep you up to date as much as possible.

In the meantime, I thought it might be a good idea to open up a thread and use the forum for some positive thoughts for once.

Good Luck Joel - get well soon.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery,Joel.

For those who haven't met him, he is a gentleman, and he took time out of his busy schedule to show me around the delights of Akihabara when i went to Japan last year.

Hope to meet up with you again in a future visit.

Ian

Well Ian has arrived out there and Joel has broken his left femur, his collarbone and both kneecaps.

He's going to be in hospital for at least a month, and then there'll be a lot of rehabilitation. I guess it will give him a chance to spend more time on forums....

I'm going out there on Friday, so if anyone has some really good reading material for him, or simply wants to send a card to cheer the guy up, PM me and I'll give you an address.

Agree with Ian, Joel is a real gentleman, and the founder of Groovehandle which went on to become Zerogain. I guess it's a blessing he's still here really.

Very sad news indeed, though a huge relief to hear it is not life threatening - wishing Joel the speediest recovery.

Tony.

Very sad to read the news that Joel has been injured. My best wishes go out to Joel and I hope that he makes a speedy and full recovery.

All the best matey. Hope you make a full and speedy recovery.

Never met Joel but hope he gets well soon.

I don't mean this in a facetious way but if he hasn't read 'It's not about the bike' by Lance Armstrong then that might be good if (when) the rehab gets tedious and hard, strength in adversity and all that. It's a really inspiring book.

Thanks all, I'll pass your messages onto him when I next see him.

His cycling days are probably over, but he seems cheerful enough given the circumstances. He's enjoying not having any internet access too, although I'm sure the novelty of that will wear off after a little while.
