Morning folks. I got my bits from Maplin yesterday (v. quick!).

Shark wire and the new Shark RCA plugs.

The plugs looks similar in build to the WBT 0101's. With locking mechanism. They also have the centre pin split to provide a better connection into the RCA socket.

I have a question though for anybody who has built similar.

There isn't a solder point for the screen as is common with lower grade RCA's so how do I connect it securly to the plug?

Do I just have the exposed shield clamped against the plug held down with the retaining screw?

Here are a picture of the WBT's which look similar:

Oh ......not the best plugs but I've been converted to bullets !

but to answer your question at the back of the cut out ,opposite end to the pin there are two bands or a slit in the casing you wrap the wire through the slit and solder to the case.....

I have to say I was underwhelmed with the GWS...

I then looked to build a cable that would outperform these hence the L'Argent which is a design that use solid silver wire, 0.5mm 4n [99.99%] fine silver. If you want more details send me a pm.
