I bought one of these years ago, not an audiophile but realize this is a pretty nice piece of kit. Any recommendations for a pre-amp and speakers to go with this? This would not be home theater, music 2-channel audio only. What smallish speakers can handle everything this thing can throw at them, without breaking the bank?
I saw the KEF-LS50 on sale, how easily can I blow these with the HK? Don't want to spend more than $500-$700 on the speakers (street price), and only care that any faults of the pre-amp won't be made apparent by the amp and speakers.
I have little kids that might get to the volume control for a brief period lol. I used to power AE Aegis 3's with it but they got blown when the pot on the volume of my old pre-amp went bad and the volume only went up when it was turned.
