I am not sure how to describe this but here goes.
I am looking for an Mp3 player (not a phone or ipod) for home use, preferably that will allow an external hard drive attachment. I would also like and Android App that can control this device as in choosing albums, playlists or folders on the hard drive.
I would want wifi for connection to Android app for wifi speakers and a hard connection to speakers. I have seen a Bose setup but their prices are painful

Is there such a beastie out there

You do not say whether you already have a hi-fi system. If you do, then almost any Android tablet should fit the bill. Otherwise, I think you are in for spending quite a lot.

no hifi system, long gone lol.
Have been looking round and found i can do what i want with Bluetooth speakers. I can also get a bluetooth attachment for my ipod classic which has a 170gig drive, si i think this would be the way to go.
WiFi speakers are a bit thin on the ground but bluetooth there are loads.
Still want to find something that has a hard drive input though just to look at, as you say i am guessing this will be steep in the money dept.
