Apparently Perigord is supposed to be the nicest town in the whole of France

Passed by there a couple of weeks ago when driving from Clermont-Fd to Bordeaux.

 

Batfink, tis a great place and the Truffles and company are equaly as good WM

Maybe I spent the odd night or 2 there or it's just that good,in fact one of the best places I've stayed in period. Penny who owns it, is great cook and serious Ale inbiber and has a wickedly rude sense of humour

 

I'm off to sw france at the weekend. We're staying with my wifes family in causade which is 100k north of toulouse. It's a charming little place known as the city of the hat.

i'm looking forward to a week of on hand baby sitting and if I can borrow a decent car we might just trek across to perigord.
