Along with replacing the caps in my NAD 302 integrated I wouldn't mind changing the wire for silver wire. Could I use 1mm silver wire to the speaker terminals or is this too thin? Also the amp has lots (approx 25) 'jumpers' on the board made from little bent bits of wire, could I expect a noticable improvement if I changed these for silver? All suggestions appreciated as novice at amp work. Have been looking at this site for wire www.wires.co.uk but not specifically for Hi-Fi should I avoid? cheers Ben.

    wires.co.uk its 4n ,it's cheap, what's not to like.

apart from their annoying habit of sending out evertyhing in 1m packets even if you buy 10m.

you may notice an improvement from replacing all the jumpers and the leadout wires to the binding posts.

Thanks sq225917, I've ordered some 2mm, 1mm, 0.5mm and 0.315mm 99.99% silver wire and will do the best I can with that.

the 1mm is pretty good for internal use, its not soft annealed so needs bending, radius any bends over something rather than making 90 degree corners with kinks.

depending on the size of the holes in the board for the speaker post lead outs you might have to blob solder onto the end of the silver to bridge the hole size, i did with 1mm, you might be good with 2mm

As far as replacing resistors what would you recommend? I will not be able to afford £2.50 for 1/2 watt Audio Note tantalum ones thats for sure. I have been unable to find a component listing or diagram for this amp so would have to read each resistor value and make a list myself.

As good as the NAD 302 was for the money, it's really not worth spending this kind of money or effort on...

the biggest change will be from fitting a decent vol pot.....

also the u shaped jumpers are pretty poor ..so just bend up some of your 2mm silver.

but as isaac says ...don't go over the top
