Just putting the finishing touches to my DIY Amp 1 from 41hz and having some trouble finding a large diameter volume knob. I need one about 50mm diameter. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have tried to obvious places (Farnell, Rapid, R S). Thanks!

I have a set of black ones.

They are 40mm across. They are the push-on type. You could have all three for £5 plus p&p.

www.hificollective.co.uk sell their knobs for about £15. They are silver ones. They are also about 40mm.

For bigger, you could try getting a 'replacement' from a manufacturer. The knobs on Densens look pretty big. I bet they'd charge a bit though.

Thanks for the offer, but it needs to be 50mm minimum. The casing is from an old cambridge amp and I don't want to put the plasticky one back on. It's a bit knackered anyway.
    Any other ideas ?

It simple to make wooden ones....find a carpenter and a lathe....should cost a couple of quid and look really good

What about sanding the 'plasticky' one and spraying it with a metallic paint?
You could also then laquer it for a deep shiny finish :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I have now located a source for these. They are actually sending them as free samples, which is a bonus...
