Eyup MO! how did you get on with the Swedo Comp?

Another Swedish act to look out for - Loney, dear

Saw them last night at the Rescue rooms and they were excellent (it was empty though, I counted all of 30 people). An acoustic guitar, a bass, a simple drum kit and a keyboard which sounded like it was alternately set to "small church organ" and "glockenspiel" another keyboard (I'm not quite sure what) plus some quite astonishing church choir like harmonies from the two keyboardists male and female and a singer like a high pitched Thom Yorke/Neil Young cross but sometimes sang like a jazz trumpet (if that makes sense).

Some was a bit folky but at times they sounded like Amnesiac era Radiohead unplugged, other times like a semi acoustic Secret Machines. Big washes of sound building up from nothing. It was beautiful. Auntie bought the CD - Loney, Noir. Listening now - tis good :).
