Well its time to get naked, roll around in the hay and worship the sun gods. Its p*ssing down here.
A very happy Solstice (or Litha) to you too It's beautiful here in London - the sunrise was good too.
Yeah, it's beautiful here in Reading too Looking forward to the drive back. I shall be celebrating the solstice by having a nice early night when the sun does finally set.
Its cleared up here too. Personally as its a Most Haunted Live tonight its a date with the panasonic tv set! Yes I am sad.
Bollocks, at midnight my depression will start to mount until Dec 21 when my spirits will slowly start to rise again. Love the sun, love the warm weather, love the long balmy nights, hate snow , ice, dark nights and gloomy, low, grey, scottish mid winter skies. Its all uphill for me for the next few months after today .....
I hate bad weather too, if its cloudy my face is like this if its sunny i am like this Its one of the reasons I cannot see me living in the UK all my life, unless summers are like this all the time. I love hot sunny weather, I don't like it the way has it been though it I clocked 35 on Saturday on garden that was too hot, it was about 22c about 5:00ish with a nice breaze in bright sun, perfect.
well i was up nice and early and watched the sunrise with one or 2 other hippys down on the beach, was going to go skinny dipping but the local Cuntstabulary was keeping a beady eye on use
Ya love the sun, warm summer, ya I could have that 365 days a year, never get bored of that, hate the rain, wet, cold Uk winter, yuck. Anyway lovely day, nice walk at lunchtime, otherwise stuck in the office, (which is a converted roof space of all places). Evening spent looking at the garden with a mate wondering how we're going to do tha patio, cos I'm not paying some dam company £1.5k to do it. And when the sun went down, I did some stripping..... of wallpaper sadly ! hehe Does DIY ever stop???
I know what you mean about no sun making you feel depressed. I don't really hate bad weather, but I definitely notice feeling happy if the sun is about! Also from what I hear, hot temperatures like 35c are not so bad in other places where it isn't so humid and the sun is higher in the sky because you can sweat properly and the sun doesn't blind you.
Humidity is the key to it all. I lived in the desert, but right near the coast in Saudi Arabia for over 3 years. 50 deg C coupled with 100% humidity really has to be experienced to be believed, it is almost unbearable, god only knows how I managed to actually do physical work in it too ( well perhaps God and my Bank Manager of the time ). Another weird thing that i have noticed over the last few years since moving bck to the UK is that i get really painfull and achy eyes in even moderate sunshine and have to squint a lot, my 'time to don the sunglasses' threshold definately seems to have lowered. A small price to pay compared with the wet misery of winter.
I have noticed that too.. I have gone outside to find myself squinting badly and thinking there must be something wrong with me! Like I spend too much time inside or something.
I've only really started wearing sunglasses in the last few years - now it seems that when I go out I need them more when I'm driving...
