Although I am a long standing Mana fan I must, regretably, suggest no one places an order for Mana equipment at the present time.

A Company credit check shows three recent CCJ's against Mana Audio Ltd and CheckSure has the following rating:

"1 out of 100 Extreme Risk! - This company exhibits characteristics similar to companies who have generally failed. e.g. negative capital employed and / or massive trading loss.
Credit Limit GBP 0 Selling to this company? The Credit Limit is the recommended maximum outstanding debtor exposure at any one time."

I do hope they will recover from their current situation.

Sad news if true, every time a company runs into trouble it means that our HOBBY is getting closer and closer to extinction. We're living in an MP3 culture sadly. If I were you Heuer I'd get my claim in soon.

Chances of getting anything are remote to non-existant:

    "Financial Summary
Working Capital: The company's working capital deficiency increased in the period and now stands at GBP 68,052
Net Worth: Net worth reduced by 15,559 during the period and now stands at GBP -65,545
Fixed Assets: The subjects fixed assets increased during the period by GBP 69 to GBP 2,507 and are now 18% of total assets compared with 14% in the previous period"

Paying to get a CCJ or even going via the small claims court is probably chucking good money after bad!

It costs you a very small amount to go to the Small claims court, usually no more than about £25. You make your own case, as does the plaintiff. If you don't do it, you'll have less claim to your money back than people who have should the company go into recievership or liquidation.

Why do I find this news unsurprising? it seems you can fool some of the fools some of the time... the smoke and mirrors act slipped on it's own snake oil...etc...etc...

Mana going under in no way proves that the product is no good. You are a rather simplistic girly-man.

    I know, fasten your seatbelts.

This is very sad news indeed and its a very poor show IMHO if anyone starts picking over the bones and gloating.

If they are in trouble it will be a very unpleasent and stressfull time for those at Mana and anyone connected.

    Rob.

What a wonderful tune. Didn't they drop the H sometime around Euro '96 though?

    hmm

OK, I would like to say that I do genuinely feel sorry for those who may lose their job, who wouldn't? and despite my flippant remarks I myself would rather not get into a slanging match about the merits or otherwise of mana. It never resolves anything, opinion being so polarised as it is by the claims of this manufacturer, they weren't the first, they probably wont be the last. Does anybody remember Peter Belt BTW? now there was a total nutjob when it came to HiFi stupidity...

In that case you know more about me than I do myself. Not that I'm 'knocking' it, never tried it.

Proof positive that naim made the right decision banning Marco.

    snigger.

I only hope that John and his family are not screwed from this, if he can wrap it up and enjoy his life then fair enough.

Sadly I think mana killed the golden goose through over milking - as so many seem to be doing in the hifi retail and manufacturing business. A shame as they made some good products. Those that fail to adapt go under - the law of the jungle.
